NO HAGGLE ....Dependable, Fair priced Cars & Trucks !
new ad

What a wonderful time to look for a new car or truck.  We are located in HUNTERTOWN just behind Subway, the 1st business in Lima Plank Industrial Park under the power lines.  Stop in and see the cars we currently have.  Most  have me find the car they want.  I buy late model vehicles(and cars that I like), generally off-lease. Every day/week, there are auctions online where we can view a car, its condition report and compare prices. MOST ONLINE DEALER Auctions are in the morning before noon. Locally, the auctions on Tuesday & Thursday start at 9AM so let me know what you are looking for before then.

TODAY'S INVENTORY
This week's special is going to be a progressive sale with a reduction in price every Friday til it sells. It is a 1998 Chrysler Sebring Convertible, leather seats, Hunter Green in color with a BLACK TOP. It is driveable but needs some tender care.
Starting bids are at $1699.00
Last week special is a 1999 Pontiac Firebird, V6, T-TOPS, very cool. Only 104k miles, new sway bar. A few dings here & there buy a deal. Asking $5000.
I really have reduced our inventory to the bare minimum and that is okay.
As I look out on the lot I see(of couse the Pontiac Firebird I am driving), three "project cars" like my a 91 VW that needs a new wheel hub assembly; a 1999 VW Jetta that runs pretty good but needs a new attentive home; a 1998 Chevy Cheyenne 2500 pick-up, V8 just added a battery. My wife is driving a 2004 Pacifica that is pretty nice and so now the 2002 Pontiac Montana minivan is on the lot. Also a 2003 Buick Regal as noted below. And this 2002 SUV KIA SPORTAGE is a very good runner if you can drive a 5 speed.Stop in today for a look see.

1998 Chrysler Sebring CONVERTIBLE
another view
Alright, this is the deal of the week... This car looks fantastic and in addition it is a convertible. ALL FOR $1699.00 ???
And it is driveable? Yes. What is wrong with it? Well, for starters, I bought it right and it does need some tender loving care.
It definitely looks better in the picture. The top is manual has a few patches. My other convertible is a 2000 for 2x the money and its top is also manual. I have only driven this car for a few miles but like how it drives. The radio is pretty lame and the interior needs to be cleaned. The electric windows seem strong and I like the mileage computer on it.
I did not know any major issues and just need to sell it fast for the cash. This is going to be on a Progressive Sale with the price lower every Friday until it sells. If you need a fun driveable summer car , this is it!

UPDATE... Have over 124k miles on the car now. Great runner. ...boy, is it loaded and runs like...like a 2003 new car!  electric windows, locks, PS, ABS brakes, tilt, cruise control, DELCO CD Stereo, power seats, new tires. Check out others at www.cars.com and see what they are worth and then see me.  GM's Famous V6 3.8 liter engine will have lots of life & years for the new owner. CARFAX shows 1 owner and offers their BuyBack Guarantee(I'll tell you what I think of that).  Replaced the fuel pump so that is new and replaced the Catalytic Converter, just replaced new front brakes pads, rotors & caliper. The check engine light comes on periodically with code P0420 which is a cat converter code for air/mixture. Ignore it and it goes away. I can clear it out but GM says it'll come back because it is a "phantom code".or it goes away The car runs great and gets great mpg's and is well maintained. A Great buy for me means a great buy for you.. !

Karen was driving this 2002 Pontiac Montana extended van with miles(just over100K).  .  Silver in color with roof rack, all the electric buttons. Rear Air Conditioning, removeable seats( just like the commercial). Other neat features is a built-in air compressor, headphone jacks and controls for the rear passengers(kid style). I like the CD/AM/FM player that shows what song is being played and artist and year! Lots of cup holders and smart designers make the Montana a preferred ride. Power seat for driver (for the big or small person). It's got plenty of power jacks to add a DVD/TV system! Comparable vans are running over $5000 from others. Good Dependable Transportation, so make me an offer>>>>>. Be sure to do the research and then see me for late model cars at your price!

....HOW I BUY ONLINE...There are several "dealer only" websites that I look at everyday. I prefer bigger more competitive markets like Chicago, Detroit or Columbus. I like the big finance/lease companies like GMAC, Honda Finance or Volvo Credit. These cars are generally well equiped and detailed out for resale. It is a huge sophisticated market and difficult to navigate the way through. But the deals are real wholesale, not an advertised gimmic. AUCTIONS BEGIN @ 9AM and are generally over by noon. STOP OUT and see a demonstration. The extra fees include transportation costs & a buyer fee plus my comission. For most people, it is difficult to buy this way because you can't "touchy feely" the vehicle beforehand. Sometimes there's a scratch or something's not working. Newer cars will have the factory warranty. I watch the bidding on the vehicle and then click-to-bid. If successful, I transfer funds to the company immediately and then arrange transportation for delivery which takes 2-4 days. The vehicle shows up on the lot and then the paperwork to transfer the title takes place. You get a temporary license plate and have 30 days to register it with the BMV. When I transfer the funds, I need the funds in my account to do it. Again, most cannot buy this way, most bankers & economists would because of  the savings & disclosure. If you need a car loan to pay for it, we can supply you with a bill of sale & the car's VIN # which should be adequate for the bank/credit union to supply you the funds. This is on newer vehicles only with lower miles only.

Tim Hake Automotive 2220 Lima Plank Street,      Lima Plank Industrial Park,  Huntertown, IN             (next to the carwash behind Subway ) ...STOP OUT AND SEE US

Hake Automotive took over 8 years to come about. I've always loved cars & trucks but detested the process of working with car dealers. I would go to the new carlots and waste time talking to salesmen... I didn't know. They were probably good people, but I knew their overhead was sky high on the cars. I was so frustrated, I decided to get my own license.  First, a dealer has to have an on-going business with a commercial property(that's what took 7 years) and then the filing for permits and such took the next few months. Well, now that I have a dealership, those 'deals' are available to me, my family & friends and their friends.  Word of mouth by satisfied customers is my primary method of advertising.  I am learning that the best deals are few and you really never know what your car is worth until you sell it. I am here to help with this process and the paperwork and laws that apply.

Normally, I keep 10-15 cars & trucks on my lot here in Huntertown . These cars are favorites of  mine and range in price from $1,000. to $15,000. I like small late model off-lease, miles under 100k cars with good gas mileage. Warranties are available but a good mechanic and proper maintainence are a better use of your money. People have me look for the car or truck they want from basic transportation to a newer SUV...from a Corvette to a Cadillac.  I go to the auctions on Tuesday & Thursday and search out the best deals. And now with the internet I access dealer auctions & sales DAILY on vehicles across the country. I like to buy from finance leasing companies, program cars, rentals and new car dealer's excess inventories. My funds are limited so sometimes it takes a while to find the right car. In general, after I buy the car or truck you want, you are not obligated to it unless you love it and think it a great buy. Then we do the paperwork.

If you like what you see...CALL 466-4966     email hakebros@aol.com or info@timhakeautomotive.com

I'm realizing anything I buy either online or at dealer auction is truly a GREAT BUY, well at least it's fair.  The thing is... to find what you want. This can take some time when your needs are particular.   Call me with what you need. Better yet, come out and we'll search the net for just the right style and color.  With the internet, I can find 2005-07 vehicles with practically no miles. 2006 Taurus with 13,000 mile @ $13,000. So please go to the other lots first or go online...find what you want at the price you want, then see me... and literally... save $1,000's. NOTE: I must apologize to those who don't get quick answers on their requests. I am not a big dealer with lots of overhead and cars and deep pockets.  I can only buy cars that I think will sell & I can't buy $20,000. vehicles on speculation. My advise is  free. I currently am looking for 5 cars for patient people. They see the value of my service and are willing to wait for that fair deal. The most common question I get is "Tim, is it reliable?" Well, frankly you don't always know unless you've driven it awhile. Cars are dynamic machines requiring regular maintainence. If you never change your oil, you'll have problems. If you never check your fluid levels, you'll have problems. Experience says you'll eventually have problems of some kind. The newer the car, the fewer the problems and generally more expensive the repair. The older cars require more frequent repairs, always. KIDS LET YOUR CAR WARM UP before you drive!!

When do you know you are getting a deal or taken advantage of? Whenever you are RUSHED into a purchase, it's bad. Always get a 2nd opinion, preferrably a mechanic that will build confidence in your choice. But be cautious of mechanics who can be "slick" too. Best advice of the week was "Each used car is unique and typically priced with little logic or reason as to reliability, so be careful." I find it quite a hassle in negotiating prices but with good information you can generally come out okay. QUICK STORY...("Tim, I got this great  deal on a 2003 YUKON for $27,000., the salesman was so nice."...she should've paid $23,000.)

People have asked me about other car lots & mechanics. The 3 factors that stand out are service, management & integrity. I think groups like O'Daniel's & Preferred Auto  do an excellent job in these areas.  You may want to check them out before purchasing a vehicle, but manage your time with car salesmen. For those looking for "Buy here/Pay here", BE CAREFUL but consider Tim or Josh Allen at Instant Auto Finance on SpyRun Ave. or our friends at Premier Auto on Anthony Blvd. Another choice is COMMERICAL CAR CREDIT on State Street. Corbin Berkshire is an honorable person.
Mention my name(for what it is worth). There are many reputable dealeships and there are so many who should be avoided. As for mechanics, no advice yet. I've run across several websites talking about the best way to find a car & negotiate price, some are informative. Try this one http://autos.aol.com/article/general/v2?id=20060320175809990001
If I can help, just ask.

If I have one disadvantage it is selection...I don't have a wide range of cars to pick from on my lot. My service is what it is and my overhead is low.

TIM's TIP of  The WEEK. I've got to VENT on some of this advertising I' m seeing...$50/ month payments, never mentioning the amount of down-payment needed to get a $50/month payment. $0 Down, no payments for 6 months or whatever. The fine print is that it's only available to a handful of qualified buyers who generally can pay with cash. 1/2 hour TV ads, big billboards, a gazillion radio promos. I do not want to compete with the charlatan methods of some.
Tim's Tip #1..Remember a simple sale can turn into difficulty when combined with a trade-in and/or lease arrangement.  Always negotiate the sale price separate of any trade-in.  They may give you a high trade-in value on your car only to boost your ego and then charge a high price on the new car(or visa-verse)...extended warranties and fancy optional add-ons can further confuse you.  Also, terms on lease arrangements can be quite expensive if not understood in advance. This is actually 3 deals that are frequently wrapped into one. My only advice is to go slow and thoughtful through any major purchase decision.

Tim's TIP #2   ...If you want free car washes or oil changes for life, long term warranties, on sight service, then a new car dealer has what you seek....  They really provide tremendous service and they sell lots of cars. The true cost of your car is when you sell it less all the money put into it. Typically, the older the vehicle the lower the cost and higher the repairs...The newer the car, the higher the cost and still higher repair just less often, hopefully.

Tim's TIP #3 ...I'm starting a FREE CLINIC every SATURDAY morning(when not at soccer games). I'm not a mechanic but I love cars. I can check lots of basic things and can read diagnostic codes. If you have a problem, bring it out and let's get it resolved. ALL FREE, NO COST. Need a headlight changed or leak checked or tire fixed or  replace a PCV valve, etc. If you have a part to replace, come on out and let's see if we can get it fixed.  If you know me, I'll have an opinion for you to consider.

Friends ask why I sell cars so low.... Well, there are lots of reasons but I think fair pricing is the best reason. This car business is very tricky with many, many pitfalls in finding the right car. Many car dealers can be very helpful...and yet others are to be avoided.

Thank you for visiting our site today... come back frequently to see if any new vehicles have been added.  But remember most cars & trucks are never pictured  because we mostly search for what you want....late model cars & trucks at your price.
